Often,
the genitals of both men and women were sculpted or otherwise depicted
in an oversized manner, drawing attention to the fertility and nature
principles.

Interesting
little artifacts have been found that fit together, with erect penis
fitting into recessed vagina. These were often considered a depiction of
god and goddess protecting the household in union.

Piercing
for both men and women, in many cultures, has long been used as a form
of body worship and sexual enhancement. Male piercing was often
performed on young boys who proved themselves great warriors. This was
done as part of their rite of passage into manhood.

symbol of fertility as has the yoni (female genitalia). It's in the
western world where penis and vagina have taken almost entirely a sexual
connotation.

Wind
chimes carved as large penises hung in ancient households to ward off
evil spirits. The penis depicted strength and protection.
